Solutions Architect, VMware

iland Internet Solutions (www.iland.com/) is looking for full time VMware Solutions Architect. Candidate must be energetic, very organized, multi-task oriented, capable of prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and completing assignments with minimal supervision. Candidate must be well versed in Virtualization technologies, and have a good working knowledge of computer networks. Knowledge of colocation and High Speed IP a plus.

- Fully redundant datacenter-based Virtualization infrastructure using VMware
- High Speed IP (internet) connectivity up to 10 GigE

- Managed Network and Security solutions such as IP VPN (MPLS), managed firewalls, routers, load balancers, switches and Intrusion Detection Systems

Job Duties
* Work closely with the Solution Architects and Sales team through the lifecycle of the project
* A flexible attitude and belief in getting the job done and working closely with the sales organization
* The ability to foster strong relationships at all levels
* Consult with sales team and prospects to evaluate their requirements and recommend the best solution to fit their needs
* Provide assessment of client processes and technologies used for the management of Virtual Environments including: IT services, applications, systems, storage and networks.
* Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of the entire VMware product line.
* Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
* Ability to technically lead a project through the lifecycle and consult with the customer on best practices and recommendations on the current and proposed architecture

Required Skills:
* At least several years experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning
* Understanding of computer server architectures, including peripheral interfaces (SCSI, RAID, Ethernet) and multi-processor designs (SMP)
* Familiarity with systems management concepts, processes and standards (e.g. SNMP); capacity/performance management and tuning; and storage and network management
* Understanding of modern IT production data center and Internet (ISP/ASP) hosting operations
* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
* B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training, VCP and/or industry experience preferred
* In depth technical knowledge of server virtualization and its benefits is required
* Experience in VMWare ESX 2.5.2 or higher.
* Experience in Linux.
* Experience in Windows Operating systems from a system administrator perspective including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SQL.
* Hands-on experience supporting server infrastructure in a large enterprise environment.
* Knowledge of vMotion and Physical to Virtual (P2V) tools such as Acronis, Vizioncore, and Double-Take
* Experience managing and configuring SAN's
* At least one year of professional experience in migration and consolidation of servers from a physical to a virtual environment.

Other preferred skills/credentials:
* VMware Certified Professional certification.
* MCSE and 3 years or more of server administration.
* Cisco CCNA and 3 years or more of network administration.
* Ability to lift 50 pounds (for servers installs, testing, etc).
