Scott Sparvero, CEO & Co-founder
Scott Sparvero is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of iland Internet Solutions. Mr. Sparvero co-founded iland in 1995 with Brian Ussher, President. Initially created to provide websites and storefronts, iland grew as the Internet expanded, and network security demands intensified. Mr. Sparvero led iland to become a global VMware provider, managed colocation and high speed IP network and data services for high-bandwidth customers, including SaaS, content providers, Fortune 1000 companies and technology start-ups. Mr. Sparvero oversees the execution of all aspects of the company’s sales, marketing, financial and operational services and along with Mr. Ussher, is responsible for iland’s strategic direction and growth as a global provider of cloud infrastructure solutions.
Prior to iland, Mr. Sparvero pursued a medical degree and interned as a Research Technician at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston where he authored two research papers published in the Journal of Molecular Biology and in Regulatory Molecular Biology.
Mr. Sparvero holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Post-Baccalaureate Degree in Biology from Boston University.

Brian Ussher, President & Co-founder
Brian Ussher is President and Co-Founder of iland Internet Solutions. Mr. Ussher co-founded iland in 1995 with Scott Sparvero, CEO. The cloud computing company was initially created to provide web application development services to small, mid-size and large organizations. In 2000 iland moved into the colocation, dedicated server and virtual hosting business in order to provide companies with flexible and secure hosting environments. This move became the catalyst for iland’s further expansion into over 50 markets throughout the United States and Europe and the company’s development of server virtualization and replication technologies. Mr. Ussher is responsible for leading and directing the company’s day-to-day activities and together with Mr. Sparvero, is responsible for iland’s strategic direction and growth as a global provider of cloud infrastructure solutions.
Prior to iland, Mr. Ussher developed software for a variety of verticals, including medical billing, construction, materials management, financial and POS systems. He also worked at Exxon, consulting and developing inter-company billing and tracking systems for core business functions such as telecommunications and document management. Mr. Ussher is well versed in Windows, Novell and UNIX systems, as well as network administration and application-level technical support.
Mr. Ussher graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Justin Giardina, CTO
Justin Giardina is the Chief Technology Officer and oversees all aspects of iland's global technical operations and strategy including design, implementation, and support. Under Justin’s leadership, iland has established a global cloud infrastructure footprint and been first to market with innovative public, private and hybrid cloud solutions for business critical production applications, virtual desktop and lab environments as well as business continuity and disaster recovery. With more than 17 years’ experience in datacenter and network operations, Mr. Giardina speaks regularly on several topics including security, network and server virtualization, resource optimization and performance. He is a member of the VMware Partner Technical Advisory Board, an elite group of technical experts that provide new ideas and constructive feedback to help VMware develop product and service offerings that better meet the needs of customers and partners. Mr. Giardina also volunteers in his spare time as a systems administrator for several Open Source Community projects. Prior to joining iland, Mr. Giardina led network engineering and system administration teams for companies in the consulting and petrochemical industries including Texas Petrochemicals and Delta Petrochemicals.
Mr. Giardina attended the University of New Orleans and holds numerous industry certifications including Cisco, VMware, and Microsoft.

Dante Orsini, SVP of Business Development
Dante Orsini is Senior Vice President of Business Development and is responsible for the development and continued business relationships between iland and its strategic partners including VMware®, Dell, and Cisco. Under Mr. Orsini’s leadership, iland was recently awarded VMware’s Service Provider Partner of the Year for the Americas. He holds a seat on the VMware Service Provider Advisory Council – an organization that guides the direction of the vCloud provider community - and holds VMware’s VSP and VTSP certifications. Mr. Orsini’s business development and sales experience positions him as a leader with the creative ability to meet both customer and partner requirements. Mr. Orsini is regarded as a thought leader on cloud infrastructure and speaks on the topic at numerous events nationally and internationally.
Mr. Orsini has over 15 years of experience in sales and business development providing enterprise software, managed services, and technology consulting to enterprise, mid-market and small businesses. Prior to joining iland, Mr. Orsini was Vice President of Corporate Development at CorePlus, Inc., where he developed a successful partner and indirect channel program, which was responsible for generating 90% of the overall company revenue, and targeted ISVs, SaaS, Enterprise 2.0 companies, VARs, Master Agents, and System Integrators. Mr. Orsini also managed product development targeted at horizontal and vertical markets; including financial, transportation, medical, legal, and non-profit organizations. Prior to CorePlus, Mr. Orsini held numerous sales leadership roles within a variety of IT and technology-related businesses.
Mr. Orsini holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal Communications and Business from Bowling Green State University.

Laura-Beth Hatem, VP of Marketing
Laura-Beth Hatem serves as Vice President of Marketing at iland, overseeing all aspects of marketing and brand strategy for the company, including direct and online marketing programs, public relations, search engine marketing, lead generation, trade shows and collateral. She brings more than 15 years’ experience in B2B marketing efforts from both an agency and company perspective. Prior to joining iland in 2009, Ms. Hatem worked at a number of IT related organizations including NetIQ Corporation and Pros Pricing Solutions in senior marketing management positions. Her responsibilities included writing integrated marketing plans, training the sales department, coordinating trade shows, producing sales support materials, creating prospect databases, implementing direct mail campaigns, and public relations.
Ms. Hatem also brings extensive knowledge and experience in developing strategic relationships with partners and customers. In her previous position at Pros Pricing she was responsible for determining target partners, formalizing relationships, and building relationships with clients to improve customer satisfaction and increase reference sites.
Ms. Hatem holds a Masters in Communication from University of Houston and a BA in Communications from St. Edward’s University.

Jim Thompson, VP of Sales
Jim Thompson is Vice President of Sales at iland and leads a highly successful team of inside sales reps, outside sales directors, sales managers, account managers and sales support to drive hosted cloud virtualization revenue streams and ensure overall health of iland’s global sales territory through direct and channel relationships. Mr. Thompson has a long history of sales and sales management within the technology industry, with a reputation for successfully leading sales teams in business development, strategic account management and strategic sales of enterprise solutions and services to SMB and Fortune companies.
Prior to joining iland, Mr. Thompson held several senior level sales and revenue generation positions including HP, Mitchell International, Loftware and Data Return where he led sales teams to consistently grow revenue numbers and exceed quotas. Mr. Thompson attended Texas Tech University.
