senior sales representative

We're looking for a Senior Sales Representative with experience in cloud computing, VMware, server & desktop virtualization, and disaster recovery in the Washington DC, New York/New Jersey, San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Boston, Atlanta, and London markets.

This sales position entails prospecting for new accounts and cultivating existing accounts. You must be energetic and organized, able to multi-task, capable of prioritizing opportunities, meet tight deadlines, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
 
Experience
Sales experience with any of the following technologies or companies preferred: cloud computing, storage, VMware, EMC, XenSource, Citrix, Dell Equalogic, NetApp, and Cisco. Also, knowledge of Colocation and IP connectivity is helpful. Must have experience with datacenter virtualization, VMware or Citrix, disaster recovery solutions, and virtual desktops and seek out customers requiring these services. 
 
About the job
The right candidate will be able to strategize and prospect for targeted companies and must be willing to travel about 25 percent of the time. In this position, you will attend and lead targeted events with partners to generate interest while working closely in a team with a Sales Engineer and Customer Service Representative. 
 
Requirements:
• 4 year college degree required 
• 7+ years of work experience  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 
• Must be able to work independently and multitask
 
Duties
• Prospect and sell the company’s Cloud Solutions by developing strong relationships and approach with a consultative manner. 
• Must be willing to travel 25% of the time both in the US and possibly overseas. 
• Establish and maintain good public relations and networking within the community and partners to develop new business. 
• Ability to effectively learn technical products, services and solutions and readily apply new knowledge is required. 
• Convey an image of iland as a customer-focused, total solutions company. 
• Use and exhibit presentations to convey the benefits of outsourcing to clients and prospects. 
• Generate and articulate key components of service engagement proposals which tie business requirements/needs to unique company deliverables with a benefit-oriented approach. 
• Interact with Marketing and Operations to help develop programs, tools required for successful selling. 
• Must make self available 24x7 through company provided PDA/Cell phone.

• Enterprises looking for reliable and cost effective disaster recovery solutions
• SMB’s looking to virtualize their server and desktop environments in an outsourced cloud environment
• SaaS companies
• Other emerging internet technology companies
 
Characteristics we're looking for:
• Experience in cloud computing, managed Servers, virtualization (VMware), disaster recovery, VDI or managed IT highly desirable
• Ability to develop relationships at every level to get to the decision-maker
• Ability to work in a team environment and with other partners when necessary
• Positive and winning attitude
• Proven ability to listen, extrapolate information and leverage resources to effectively provide solutions to customer needs
• Possess business acumen and an understanding of industry trends
• Ability to position the company’s unique value proposition relative to competitors and with an emphasis on quality of service
• Highly motivated professional with excellent communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills
• Ability to handle an active schedule and stay in touch
• Demonstrated consistent sales ability
• Self motivated with the ability to effectively work autonomously with minimal management direction
• Ability to project a professional, highly ethical and corporate presence with our target markets
