FAQ

How does pricing work with Secure Cloud Backup? Are there ingress or egress charges for the Veeam Cloud Connect service?

Our pricing model is very simple: We only charge per-GB of storage. There are no setup, bandwidth, data retrieval or per VM fees, and our 24x7 customer support is included at no additional cost.

Can I do a File Level Restore from my Cloud Connect Backup or Backup Copy job?

Yes, but only on Windows servers. Unfortunately, at this point you will only be able to perform a File-Level Restore on Windows operating systems from the cloud repository. For more information on how to perform a file-level recovery, please check the Veeam Helpcenter Article.

How many restore points should I keep?

This number depends on your data protection requirements, however please keep in mind your storage quota. Most customers keep 7 days worth of backups with 1 full backup file and 6 incremental files. Keeping more restore points, or retaining weekly/monthly/yearly backups may require a larger quota.

How do I know if my jobs are completing or failing?

You will be able to see the status of a job within the Veeam console. iland recommends enabling the email notifications for your job to alert you when a job fails. There is a global setting for notifications in the Veeam options, along with a notifications setting in a backup or backup copy job.

What is the difference between a Backup job and a Backup Copy job?

A Backup job creates a backup of one or multiple VMs and saves the backup file to the designated repository. This backs up a VM directly to your Cloud repository in the iland cloud. A Backup Copy job copies the backup files from a local backup job to your Cloud repository. This means you would have a local copy of the backup files along with an offsite copy in the iland cloud. We recommend running a Backup Copy job as it will allow you to restore backups faster using the local restore points and provide you with the industry best practice 3-2-1 backup model.
